Cycle NZ - Plunket
What is Cycle NZ - Plunket?
Over 67 days I will be e-cycling 5,500 kms over the roads and trails of New Zealand, all to support Plunket. My 2-year-old, Ocean, will join me for the ride in a special trolley/seat attached to my e-bike, and a full-time support driver will oversee safety.
Why am I doing this?
With the COVID pandemic, Whānau Āwhina Plunket Nurses, community and support staff have relied more than ever on technology to connect with families for virtual visits or meetings, phone calls, emails, and texting. But their entire mobile phone stock is dated, old and in desperate need of upgrading. To add to this, technology is expensive and it requires regular updates.
Can I get involved?
Exciting opportunities will be available for Sponsorship, as well as opportunities for cycling enthusiasts to challenge themselves and support this project in the process.
Money raised will go directly towards replacing 1,000 old Plunket phones with up-to-date technology so that its staff can continue to be there for the health and wellbeing of Kiwi families with under-fives, no matter what.
You can also be on the ride with me as part of a paid support couple or pair of people, find out more:
